Off To The Beach

The layout above is my interpretation for this sketch:

For the pinwheel, I tried to give it a more realistic look, by doing some shading work. Hope it works.

Scrapbook Challenges January Bloghop

My first blog hop ever.
Even better, this hop is called Seasons of Change. :) Yup, this is also a season of change for me, as I challenge myself to broaden my knowledge and to improve my skills in every thing I love, e.g: cooking, digiscrapping, photo editing, etc. And, I really thankful for the chance I got as I join Scrapbook Challenges' Design Team for the first term in 2012. Yay!

My name is Devi, this is my first term with Scrapbook Challenges. I live in Indonesia with hubby and three wonderful children, 7yo, 3yo and 11mo.

Now, onto the sketch. Brynn has created a one page sketch to work with:

And here's my layout using this sketch:

This little girl, Flicka, is my friend Isma's firstborn daughter. She amazed everyone when she without any fear threw herself into all the outdoor activities with our homeschool community. We could see how this 4 yo little girl loved and enjoyed it.

Channel also provided double-page version, if you are interested.

Now, onto the prizes. A challenge without prizes it's not THAT FUN, right? ;) *grin*

There are three prizes, each for one person. Here they are:
1. Hop On Prize: for one person completing a layout based on the Blog Hop Sketch and posting to the Hop On Thread:

2. Comment on all DT blogs.

3. New Member Prize (One random new members who joins between 1/13 & 1/15)

Your next stop on the hop is with Jowilna! And, Bev is the person before me.
If you're get lost along the way, you can find the beginning of the line at SC blog. Enjoy!

Joining Scrapbook Challenges' Design Team

Wow! Super excited.

Brynn from Scrapbook Challenges emailed me that they have a spot for me as a new Designer Team last December, while I was away from town.

And yesterday, a cyber friend of mine (soon we will meet rite, mate?) congratulated me that I am now one of SC Designer Team. Yay!

Seeing my name there printed along with my best friend Ekawati, and the nice thing is they n't forget to include what country we are from, I was thrilled. Am I a hero or what? :p Hahaha..

O.K. Now, I need to go back to work, there are some requirements I need to meet.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with element

Actually, I am not fond of using too many elements in a layout.
BUT, recently I just found that if you can arrange it in such a way, those stuffs will give the page a style, and bring you happiness by seeing it. Well, I exaggerated. ;)

My Best Friend's Birthday

It was her birthday. I was thinking to give her a frame with a digiscrap in it.

She is a scrapbooker herself. A real one. And she has a style. Classy and elegant one.  I always admire her taste in scrapbooking. You can take a look here. I know I will never can be a scrapbooker like her, with a real scissors, needle and thread, and stacks of paper, a bunch of ribbon, oh so not me. I am too lazy and unorganized to be one.

So, I scrapped this layout just for her, using the extension of my clumsy fingers: Photoshop. Not to compare with adorable own made collection of hers, tho.

The word art Everybody Loves Ing-ing was inspired by Everybody Loves Raymond, a TV serial my hubby & I loved to watch together. I just wanted her to know how she is loved by all boys around her. How much her hubby and their precious sons love and relied on her. She is the mom, the homemaker, the caretaker, their everything.

Happy birthday, Sis. Hope you like it.

Brother and Sister

It's a great mystery for me, to see how siblings get along one another.

This special connection amazed me. Big brother, little sister. They were never met before. But how they love each other.

The picture above, using a bit from here, and a bit from there, I just couldn't track it anymore. *sorry!
